Sun shines on the dragons! Glorious sunshine greeted the crews who headed over to the water sports centre this morning for dragon boat racing. In keeping with the spirit of the races, crew members from Pogoria and Gedania (both Poland) (with one crew member from Pelican (UK) ) joined forces to create what they hoped would be the ultimate dragon boat team. Each team raced three times, with the fastest times being recorded. Finally the fastest four teams raced for the trophy. Other activities today include beach volley, tennis and tug-of-war, as well as the ever popular crew parade through the streets of Falmouth. The weather was not quite so kind yesterday and work boat racing was cancelled due to high winds but some intrepid crew members took to the water on kayaks instead. Last night's Captains Dinner was a splendid affair. The Mayor of Plymouth, Mike Varney, welcomed the guests, followed by a few words of thanks on behalf of the captains by Captain Henry Ogando, Executive Officer of Capitan Miranda (Uruguay)
