Beach volleyball draws the crowds

The crew sports competitions have started today, with football, basketball and beach volleyball taking place in various local venues.  Regular shuttle buses between the venues are making access easy for everyone.

The beach volleyball competition on the city beach drew many spectators and included teams from Gedania (Poland), Pogoria (Poland), Endeavour (UK), Mir (Russia), Cuauhtemoc (Mexico), Shabab Oman (Oman), and Capitan Miranda (Uruguay). 

The ships are all receiving many visitors as the public continue to visit the regatta.  Several parties of school children are taking the opportunity to learn more about maritime history at first hand. 

Crews are looking forward to the Crew Parade and Prize Giving that will take place this afternoon, which is followed by the crew party this evening at the Maderia Wine Institute.
