Funchal welcomes the fleet

Most of the fleet has now crossed the finishing line, apart from Gedania (Poland) and Astrid (Netherlands).  Eight vessels are now in port – 3 Class A vessels  - Kaliakra (Bulgaria), Pogoria (Poland) and Shabab Oman (Oman) and well as five combined Class B, C and D vessels.

Those finished but not yet alongside are currently at anchor, preparing for their arrival into Funchal.  Mir (Russia) is due alongside at 0800hrs tomorrow 30 September, followed by Sedov (Russia) at 0900hrs, Creoula (Portugal) at 0930hrs and Cuauhtemoc (Mexico) (pictured) at 1000hrs.  Other vessels will be coming in at times to be advised. 

Preparations in Funchal are in full swing.  The organising team have been working hard to prepare for the earlier than expected arrival of the fleet and they have already arranged an island tour for the Class B crews.
