Class A vessels showing their might!

The Class A vessels are holding their own against the smaller vessels with the first four in class also holding those positions overall, both on corrected time.  Alexander von Humboldt (Germany) (pictured top) is in first place for both, Pelican of London (UK) (pictured bottom) is in second place for both, Mir (Russia) third for both and Sedov (Russia) in fourth. 

On the water Quero Quero (Portugal) remains in the lead this morning, followed by Mir lying second, Challenger 1 (UK) and Spaniel (Latvia) in joint third and Sedov in fourth place.

Quero Quero also leads her class (Class B) on corrected time and is sixth overall.  Tecla (Netherlands) is in second place and eighth overall and Spaniel is third in class and thirteenth overall.

Statistics show that Quero Quero is sailing at an average speed of 4.9kts whilst the slowest vessel is Astrid (Netherlands) at 2.6kts.  On present form, Quero Quero is set to cross the finishing line at 1740hrs tomorrow, 29 September, though this may change depending on the weather.

Today the forecast is for NNE at 17kts backing WNW up to 20kts with showers.  Tomorrow, the wind is forecast to continue WNW up to 22kts, veering N up to 25kts, showers then fair.   The outlook for 30 September is N up to 23kts veering NNE and reducing to 18kts and fair.
