The Capitans' Briefing took place this afternoon in preparation for the fleet's departure tomorrow (23 Sept).  Undocking will commence at 1000hrs followed by the Parade of Sail.

On leaving the harbour entrance the fleet are to head due south in front of the golden beaches of Ilhavo where thousands of spectators are expected to be lining the shore.

Unfortunately the weather forecast for the start line and indeed for the next few days is predicting extremely light and variable winds and the race committee are therefore already considering their options in order to get the fleet on their way to Funchal.  At the present time it seems likely that the race start will be moved south along the race track towards Funchal.  The news reports here will provide updates as necessary.

Despite the possibility of light airs the race fleet remain in high spirits having been entertained so well in Ilhavo, but are also looking forward to getting out to sea with new trainees now on board.
