Race Update 4: Monday 15 September pm

The competition is well and truly underway with changes in all the lead positions.   This evening's overall race leader (on corrected time) at 1700 GMT is now Juan de Langara (Spain) followed by previous leader Spaniel (Latvia), with Sedov (Russia) in third place. 

On the water Steppe (Belgium) and Endeavour (UK) are now neck and neck at the front of the fleet with Spaniel slipping back to third place and some way further west than the rest.  

In Class A Sedov (Russia) has taken the lead from Mir (Russia) with Pogoria (Poland) moving  up to third place. 

In Class B, Juan de Langara leads, followed by Spaniel in second and Endeavour in third position. 

Weather conditions are favourable with a moderate sea state and a N NW gusting at 15kts.  Conditions are due to remain favourable with the wind direction turning E NE and gradually

increasing. 

The next report is due to be posted at around 0800 hrs on Tuesday.
