Race Update 1: No wind hampers progress Under a full moon and clear skies most of the ships had a slow start during the night in light winds. As of this morning's report at 0700 GMT Spaniel (Latvia) leads on corrected time overall as well as in the B,C and D Class followed by Endeavour (UK) and Steppe (Belgium) in second and third places respectively. In Class A on corrected time Mir (Russia) leads followed by Sedov (Russia) in second place and Capitan Miranda (Uruguay) in third. On the water Spaniel also leads with Steppe and Endeavour in second and third. The leading Class A on the water is Mir. A ridge of high presure is set to remain just to the east of the route from Sunday through to Monday before a cold front approaches and pushes across on Tuesday. Wind for Sunday 14 September are mainly south at 10 kts backing south-south east and decreasing during the evening. The forecast for Monday in our area is south-easterly 8 or less.
